This Policy is implemented by Matchtech Group and applies to all its subsidiaries including Alderwood Education.

We have an ongoing and dedicated commitment to acting ethically in all service areas and this ensures a high level of quality is reflected in our social and environmental responsibilities.

Health and Safety

Matchtech Group has established an Occupational Health and Safety Management System which complies with OHSAS 18001:1999 and all legal and contractual obligations relevant to our activities. Matchtech Group's key objectives are to:

All employees have a responsibility to uphold this policy and comply with Health and Safety obligations and this is incorporated into all employee inductions and training.

We provide all employees with Health and Safety equipment where applicable and recently we supplied each individual with an attack alarm free of charge, for their own personal safety.

We also provide staff with an optional anti-flu virus injection at our premises every autumn.

Training

As a member of the REC, all our consultants are REC qualified or are currently undertaking the examinations. This training covers all topics relating to the recruitment process with a general view to complement the Matchtech Group guidance.

We also provide ongoing training to our consultants to ensure a constant up to date knowledge of best practice in the recruitment industry and all relevant legislation. Training carried out to our consultants within the last 12 months, includes:

Responsibility to the Community

Matchtech Group realises how important it is to be involved with community projects at a local level and encourages close links between the company, institutions, charities and local authorities as well as participation in local events.

Responsibilty to the Environment

Matchtech Group recognises its obligations to the Environment through our services and therefore we are continually striving to improve the impact we have on our surrounding environment.

Accreditation

Matchtech Group recognises its responsibilities to the environment and has obtained ISO 14001 for The Provision of Recruitment Services in the Private and Public Sector worldwide. All employees are advised of this policy and we are continually developing our processes to improve our impact on the environment. All our waste consumable materials are recycled and our IT systems have been developed to significantly reduce paper waste. Our commitment to reducing the impact on the environment has ensured continual improvement and we are always striving to enhance our environmental contribution.

Energy

Matchtech Group is aware of the importance of efficient and cost-effective energy design solutions to reduce the overall impact on the environment, both in terms of reducing the consumption of non-renewable fossil fuels and in reducing the quantity of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere. Accordingly Matchtech Group reduce our energy usage and associated costs:

Transport

Matchtech Group accept that motor vehicles are responsible for significant emissions to the atmosphere and therefore by reducing the use of vehicles and thereby the effects of them, we can benefit the environment and contribute to improving both the health of our staff and the general public.

Waste

To reduce negative environmental impacts, we recognise that it is important to reduce the quantities of materials used in the office and to encourage the reuse and recycling of office materials and the use (where appropriate) of less environmentally damaging materials. Matchtech Group will take all appropriate steps to reduce the amount of 'raw material' usage within the office environment.

Further Accreditation

Health & Safety Responsibility - Matchtech Group has achieved certification to the Health & Safety standard OHSAS 18001:1999 (Occupational Health & Safety). Independently audited, this policy ensures that Matchtech Group takes full responsibility for the safety of its employees and ensures that all risks are anticipated. Should any incident occur, management systems are in place, which deal with these discrepancies called non-conformance reports.

Quality - ISO 9001:2000 - Matchtech Group is accredited to this Quality Management System which ensures that the highest levels of quality are achieved through Matchtech Group's activities. The development and implementation of this formal Quality Management System, further enhances the company culture of promoting the importance of meeting our clients' needs, as well as satisfying statutory and regulatory requirements.

Disability Mark - Matchtech Group recently qualified for the right to display the disability at work mark. This is a government initiative to ensure good practice in the employment of disabled people.

EC Code of Conduct/REC Audited - The REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation) is the governing body of the recruitment industry. Matchtech Group abide by all relevant codes of conduct. Matchtech Group is also REC Audited, a special accreditation, which proves to clients, candidates and stakeholders that we take ethics in recruitment seriously.

REC Audited is the most comprehensive regulatory audit of its kind, demonstrating that agencies are committed to the highest possible standards. REC Audited offers assurance that agencies are conducting their business lawfully and ethically and will offer guidance if they are not.
